¿Sony buscando nuevo procesador para la siguiente consola?

- RUMOR: PC Watch Japan reported that Sony is looking for a multi-core CPU design for the next PlayStation console, typically it takes 24 months to finish prototype design of a new console. Another note is that the previous plans to use Intel's Larabee GPU and an enhanced version of Synergistic Processing Unit on the console have been scrapped.

A partir de hoy Playstation Store (accesible através de la PSN desde tu PS3) tiene nuevo contenido entre estos estan:

PS3 ver 1.80

Salió una nueva versión el 24 de Mayo del 2007 del firmware de PS3. Esta versión agrega varios "features" muy interesantes, entre mis favoritos es el "upscaling" de juegos de PSX y PS2 a formato HDTV al igual que "upscaling" de los DVDs reproducidos en el PS3. Lo que hace este feature es reproducir estos juegos y películas en resolución 480p aparte de agregar una función que te permite suavizar (smoothing) la imagen y reducir el efecto pixeleado.

Entre otras cosas se agregó soporte para impresoras, si !!! ahora puedes imprimir tus fotos directamente del PS3 sin tener que pasarlas a la PC. También se mejoro la función "Remote Play" ahora con tu PSP puedes reproducir todos los videos y música que tengas en tu HDD de 60GB del PS3 através de INTERNET !!

En fin yo creo que esta actualización realmente valio la pena, creanme jugué FFVII en mi PS3 en widescreen y 480p y se ve genial !!

Heavenly Sword para PS3

Uno de los títulos que espero más este año para el PS3 es Heavenly Sword, te pone en el rol de una poderosa heroina que tiene que cortar su camino através de olas de enemigos. A mi me da la impresión de que es un estilo Ninja Gaiden mezclado con God of War, he visto videos en Gamespot y se ve muy atractiva la forma de juego y de los gráficos ni se diga ya que es de los pocos títulos exclusivos de PS3 que van a salir para este año.

Ken Kutagari... Toda una generación!!

Sin duda, vamos a extrañar al padre del Playstation. Ken Kutagari dejará Sony Computer Entertainment para convertirse en miembro honorario de la mesa directiva. Aquí les dejo el comunicado oficial publicado por Sony el pasado 26 de Abril.


TOKYO, JAPAN, April 26, 2007 – Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) and
Sony Corporation (Sony) have jointly announced today that Ken Kutaragi,
Representative Director, Chairman and Group CEO, Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.,
will retire from his executive position at SCEI effective June 19, 2007, when SCEI’s
annual shareholders’ meeting will take place. Mr. Kutaragi will pass on the torch to
the next generation, stepping back from his executive management responsibility of the
company to serve as Honorary Chairman of SCEI.
With his deep and instinctive insight into future technology, Mr. Kutaragi will also
continue to support Sir Howard Stringer, Chairman and CEO, Sony Corporation, as
senior technology advisor.
Concurrently, Kazuo Hirai, currently President and Group COO, SCEI, will be
promoted to President and Group CEO, continuing his responsibility as the leader of the
PlayStation® business worldwide.
Mr. Kutaragi, well known as the “Father of PlayStation”, invented and launched the
original PlayStation in 1994 and its successor, PlayStation 2, in 2000. Since the
introduction of PlayStation and subsequently PlayStation 2, these platforms opened up a

installed base of more than 200 million units in homes around the world, with more than
2 billion units of PlayStation and PlayStation 2 software titles shipped worldwide. The

1.3 millones de usuarios en el Playstation Network

Según cifras de Sony. En particular, de su director de relaciones públicas, David Karraker. Se anunció ayer que el número de usuarios del Playstation Network ha alcanzado los 1.3 millones de usuarios. Con 600,000 en América y el resto en Asia y Europa.

Según Sony, 3.7 millones de descargas se han realizado en el sitio para bajar contenido de diverso tipo.

Según fuentes de Sony, el número total de consolas vendidas de Playstation 3 ha alcanzado las 800,000 unidades en Europa.

El PSP con nuevas funcionalidades

En una entrevista realizada por la BBC a Jonathan Fragher de SCEE (Sony Computer Electronic Entertainment) menciona que la compañía está planeando agregar nuevas funciones al PSP, para que pueda acceder a material como fotos, películas videos y audio de manera inalámbrica por medio del PS3. Los usuarios podrán conectar su PSP al PS3 vía cualquier hotspot. Si una cámara o MP3 Walkman está conectado al PS3, los usuarios del PSP también tendrán acceso a esos dispositivos.
